How I prepped my kids bed during potty-training

Ohhh the wonderful period of potty training!

I will share what helped me simplify the nighttime bed wetting and changing sheets in the middle of the night.

Waking up wet, having to change everything and if it didn’t get through to the mattress then having to bring them in your bed.

This is what helped me make things easier.

Layers layers LAYERS!! Sounds extreme but honestly this will save you so much trouble.

You will need a nylon waterproof fitted sheet, 2 regular fitted bedsheets and some disposable bed mats (or 2 waterproof bed mats).

To protect the mattress I put a waterproof fitted bedsheet so nothing seeps in the mattress. Then I put a normal fitted bedsheet. I layer ON TOP of the bedsheet, where the child sleeps, a disposable bed mat or reusable waterproof bed mat. Then I put another regular fitted bedsheet.

Why I do this? Ok, you put your kid to sleep. Let’s say they pee, you change them, remove the wet bedsheet and wet disposable mat. There it is! A fresh bed ready to sleep in and in less than 2 mins your child can be back in bed.

*I use: parent’s choice disposable mats from Walmart

I hope this helped someone. Let me know what else you’d like to see!!

Picky Eaters

Mom of a picky eater

Fist off, I never force my kids to eat. I feel like if I force them to eat they will associate eating to an unpleasant experience and the last thing you want is for them to dislike meal time.

I also don’t fully support bribing with dessert (unless something extra special) for something they HAVE to do? Cuz then they’ll expect it every time.

If they don’t want to eat right away, just put it away. When they get hungry again, offer the same dish.

Another thing I do: I always have a variety of different foods in their plate with at least one or 2 things I know they will like and enjoy.

For us, avocados, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and boiled carrots are always the first to disappear from their plates!! Secret word when “new” things are introduced is: just taste it or just try it!

It’s ok for them to not like something, they are building their taste buds and just like us adults there will be certain things they won’t enjoy eating And that’s ok!

Leftover salmon burgers

Hello!

I don’t like wasting food! We’re a family of 4 and trust me when I say the grocery bill can surely add up!! So here and there I try to be creative with the leftovers.

So last night we had roasted garlic and onions salmon with lemon and parsley.

It’s rare I have leftover salmon but this time we did. So the next day I chopped it up, added diced celery and onions, fresh parsley, 1 egg, gluten-free breadcrumbs. I formed them and put them in the oven until they got slightly crispy and voila! A whole new dish!

They got devoured!! Now that’s what I call a success!!

Baking soda uses

Hey guys!!

A must have in my pantry-bathroom-cleaning products is Baking Soda

I use it for so many things.

Mouth sores for kids and adults: make a paste with a teaspoon of baking soda and 2 teaspoons of water with a Q-Tip dab some in the sores or use it as mouth rinse.

I unclog my sink once a week: Boil water then I add baking soda in the kitchen drain, add some vinegar wait 15 mins and rinse with boiling water.

Always put a bit in the kids bathtub especially when they were babies and had diaper rashes.

I can make paragraphs that last forever so here’s a little list and if you need more details email me and I’ll send you specifications:

Drains, laundry when washing, clean my kitchen sink, baking, fridge clean and deodorize, exfoliate face, brush teeth….

I always keep a box under my sink in the kitchen, one with my cleaning products and one in the bathroom.
