Glossy Box – April

Glossy Box - April

Hello Everyone!! I got my glossy box on friday 😀 I was impressed with the product sizes I’ll admit. Here’s what I got in my box:

Elizabeth Grant Shower Gel in Vanilla – Full size
Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer – Full size
Wella Conditonner for fine to normal colored hair – Sample size
Wella Treatment for fine to normal colored hair – Sample size
Marcelle Plus Mascara Lengthening and curling – Full size
Marcelle BB cream in light – small sample size

I was really impressed with the size of the products, the only thing is I find they’re not “higher-end” products. To me these are products that I’d probably pick up from the drugstore or something which to me are known. The Wella products can be interesting since I was looking for a new hair routine.

My “Everyday” Look

Surprisingly enough, I don’t wear makeup everyday. I try to let my skin breathe 2-3 times a week… But when I do here’s what I use and why:
Face:
Hard Candy Primer – Since I have dry flaky skin, that silky texture helps.
Raffael’s liquid foundation in C2 – buildable and not heavy
MAC’s Studio Fix powder in N4 – Holds my makeup and gives that extra little coverage I need for my red cheeks and nose.
MAC’s Prep+Prime highlighter in Rose – I’ve been skipping concealer just to avoid the heavy look and this just instantly brightens my dark circles 😉
Raffael’s blush in 293 Mellon – Beautiful light pink, perfect for spring.
MAC’s Fix+ spray – Leaves a nice dewy finish.
Eyes:
Avon’s waterproof glimmerstick in chocolate brown – Line my lower and top lashline
Raffael’s Mascara Pro – One coat is enough (for me)
Lips:
Raffael’s lip stick Love Lust – With my finger I dab some on my lips enough to give it a hint of pink since it’s a beautiful Barbie pink.

That’s it! When I think of everyday makeup, it has to look natural and not overdone and cakey. So for me this is perfect and easy to turn into an evening look if something comes up last minute 😉

Glymm Box – April

Glymm Box - April

Here is what I received in my Glymm box for April 2012:

Lucia – No1 Goat milk & linseed soap 25g
Atelier Cologne – Orange sanguine fragrance (small sample size)
Free Your Mane – Shampoo and conditioner sulfate-free (sample size)
Mai Couture – Social Gloss in shade Femme Fatale (full size)
NuMe 100$ certificate

My first impression of this box once I opened it was “Oh my Sweets! This is NOT what I expected, at all” (in a bad way)… Then as I was looking at the actual products, I really fell in LOVE with the smell of the soap, very soft but very small size product. I also really really like the pink shade gloss from Mai Couture, very summery and I love Pink 😀
The fragrance well, I like fruity smells but again… Size? Way too small!!
The gift certificate, I dont think I’ll use it, but we’ll see!
So I guess it was OK! Not more than that!

Hair “Poof” Magic… Well, almost!!

OOOOk so a week ago I bought the Got2B  Powder’ful volumizing powder. I used it all week (like literally everyday) with different looks. I really love how it boosts up the hair with VOLUME! The only think I’m not crazy over is the texture of it, feels weird. . I tried just putting powder directly onto hair and also applying it with my fingertips. The best way to apply this is with your fingertips, rub the product on the area where volume is mostly needed!! For the amount of $$ I think it’s great!! So you have boring flat hair? Add some of this to your roots, play around with it to give it some hold and there you go… Magic !!  haha

Beauty Tip – Brush Love!

Don’t forget, aside from spot cleaning your brushes regularly, you should deep clean your makeup brushes at least once a week with a gentle shampoo. Baby shampoo works wonders! Helps prevent dirt and bacteria.
Also for some extra TLC (tender love and care) do not bend the bristles or apply too much pressure, the stress can cause the bristles to break.
That’s how you get your brushes to last you forever! 😉

Favorite products for the month of march

Every now and then I like to try different products or colors. For the last 2 weeks maybe 3 I’ve been hooked to Raffael’s longlasting lipstick in color Lola. It’s a coral-peach that goes with any type of look smokey eye, subtle eyes, anything!

For the eyes I’m loving the glimmersticks from Avon in chocolate brown and blue flare!

The rest is the usual routine 🙂

Tip

Don’t feel like wearing foundation everyday but still need some kind of coverage? Make your own tinted moisturizer without spending big bucks: take your day moisturizer and mix in a few drops of your favorite foundation, top off with some powder!
